The South Dakota State men’s basketball team moved up a spot in the bracket this season, earning a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Jackrabbit head coach Scott Nagy said the seed was warranted; however, now SDSU faces a team that was ranked No. 1 in the nation earlier this season – fourth-seeded Michigan.
“I don’t see how one of the top 16 teams in the country could be a good matchup for anybody,” Nagy said. “It’s going to be a very difficult game for us, particularly on the perimeter. When you talk about good basketball, and as a basketball coach, I would want to build our team first around guards. And Michigan has done that. They’re tremendous at the guard positions.”
Tipoff is at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
