• Brookings dominates Flyers, 7-2, in championship
BROOKINGS – The 2013 Rangers did it!
The Rangers accomplished what several highly–touted Brookings teams have failed to do in the not–so–distant past – win a South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association varsity boys’ state title.
And the way they did it makes it even sweeter.
The 2013 Rangers capped off a regular–season league championship with a 7–2 thumping of the second–seeded Sioux Falls Flyers in Sunday’s title game at Larson Ice Center, after rolling through the tournament with a 10–0 opening–round shutout over Aberdeen and an 8–3 semifinal win over Rushmore.
