• RFP for engineering services to go out this week
BROOKINGS – As expected, the Brookings City Council on Tuesday gave its approval for an extension of the sanitary sewer line along Main Avenue, from 20th Street South to 40th Street South.
Although it’s not a “glamorous” project, it’s nevertheless critical to the development of southside Brookings, since it will serve new residential communities like Prairie Hills and Christie Springs.
The infrastructure work is also necessary to serve a planned elementary school and a fire station, neither of which can be built without the sewer line.
