Candidate deadline 5 p.m. this Friday

BROOKINGS – With just the rest of the day and tomorrow remaining, only three Brookings residents are officially in the race for the two school board and two city council seats up for grabs this spring.

Deputy Mayor Keith Corbett is the only city council candidate who, as of this morning, had submitted nominating petitions to seek re-election.

Van Fishback and board President Larry Rogers are the only certified candidates for the two school board vacancies.

That doesn’t mean that the three will be shoo-ins. Candidates have until 5 p.m. Friday to file nominating petitions for the offices.
