Stanley G. Rymerson, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the United Living Community in Brookings.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Brookings. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings. Stanley G. Rymerson was born May 23, 1928, in Brookings County, the son of Selmer and Stella (Johnson) Rymerson. Stanley received his education in the Brookings schools and was a graduate of Brookings High School in 1946.
Stanley farmed with his father until he entered the Air Force in 1951. He served until 1955 during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he farmed with his father and brother.
Stanley married Barbara Anderson on Nov. 25 1967, in Brookings. Barbara died Oct. 12, 1989, in Brookings. He married Elsie Pederson on Feb. 14, 1992, in Brookings.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Brookings VFW, the B.P.O.E. No. 1490 and the Brookings American Legion.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and especially spending time with family and friends.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Elsie of Brookings; two step-daughters, Marie (Mike) Robinson of Silver City and Sally (Steven) Meyer of Manhattan, Kan.; a step-son, Rick (Joanna) Pederson of Midland, Texas; five step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Sanford (Margene) Rymerson of Toronto; three sisters, Sylvia Bren of Chat Field, Minn., Sandra (Arthur) Wilber of Brookings and Sharon (Edward) Diebert of Fargo, N.D., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; sister, Shirley, and two brothers-in-law, Paul Hansen and Dale Bren.
