Eldean L. Pirlet, 91, died Saturday, Feb.16, 2013, at the United Living Community in Brookings.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Volga. Burial is at Lake Campbell Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation begins at the church at 11 a.m. Eidsness Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Eldean Leora (Rogholt) Pirlet was born July 22, 1921, on the family farm south of Volga to Lewis and Clara (Erickson) Rogholt. She grew up there and attended country school until the family moved to Lake Preston where she graduated from high school. On March 17, 1941, she married George Pirlet at Pipestone, Minn. Eldean was a homemaker for many years and later worked at Tupper Pharmacy and the Volga V Store.
Eldean was a member of First Lutheran Church and the W.E.L.C.A. She taught Sunday school and Bible school for several years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and spending time at the cabin at Lake Oakwood; she especially enjoyed spending time with family and attending activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 72 years, George, of Volga; two daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Ahrenstorff of Lake Park, Iowa, and Becky (Craig) Frost of Spokane, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clint and Laverne Rogholt; and a great-great-granddaughter, Karson Ruth Eldean Moore.
