• City manager talks about snow removal and the problems that come with it
Last week’s storm dumped an “official” 5.89 inches of white stuff on Brookings – many residents measured 8 to 12 inches – and that left city street crews hustling to move a mountain of snow.
Now, forecasters are saying we could get another 6 to 10 inches in the next few days.
City manager Jeff Weldon talked with the Register Monday to explain just how last week’s big cleanup proceeded and to detail some of the special issues the city faces in downtown snow removal.
