SDSU goes 1-1 on opening day of Jimmy John’s Lion Classic II

HAMMOND, La. – The South Dakota State softball team went 1-1 on the opening day of the Jimmy John’s Lion Classic II on Friday.

The Jackrabbits opened with a 3-2 victory over LSU-Alexandria, an NAIA member; before falling to UTEP by a 13-5 margin.

Today, SDSU (2-5) takes on UMBC at 12:30 p.m. and host Southeastern Louisiana at 3 p.m. The Jacks wrap up tourney play with a game against Texas Southern on Sunday at 10 a.m.
