Eibs breaks school record in 600; Johnson wins shot put

LINCOLN, Neb./VERMILLION – The South Dakota State track and field teams competed in the Nebraska Tune-up in Lincoln and the South Dakota Twilight in Vermillion on Friday.

The Jackrabbits return to action at the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 24-25 at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.

• Women’s track and field

In the final regular-season meet of the season, the South Dakota State women’s track and field team broke its first school record of the year – as freshman Jessica Eibs made her debut in the 600-meter run and finished fifth with a Jackrabbit record time of 1 minutes, 35.88 seconds at the Nebraska Tune-up.
