BROOKINGS – The Bobcats finally showed the poise that head coach Travis Engebretson has been stressing all season.

Sioux Falls Lincoln hit back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the game at 37-all, but Brookings stayed composed and pulled away down the stretch for a 55-47 win that clinched the No. 2 seed in District 1AA.

“You don’t want what happened Friday night in the fourth quarter to happen, but I think it proved to the kids that you have to maintain your composure and play with poise, and we did that tonight in the fourth quarter,” said Engebretson of Pierre’s 21-point comeback that fell a point short. “(Lincoln’s) a good basketball squad; they battled the entire night and fortunately for us, we had some poise in the fourth quarter."
