AURORA – Being near the beginning of the Lenten season, a time of prayer, self-denial and sharing, wasn’t enough to keep a burglar from breaking into and stealing from an Aurora church earlier this week.
Brookings County Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says a 39- or 40-inch iSymphony television and a silver-colored boom box with a cassette player were stolen from the First English Lutheran Church in Aurora.
The theft of the items, valued at $519, happened sometime between Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, when the break-in was discovered.
