Thorpe announces council candidacy

• Both council incumbents seek re-election

BROOKINGS – City Council member Jael Thorpe, will seek re-election on April 9, she announced today.

Thorpe joins fellow incumbent Keith Corbett, who had previously announced his intent to run again for council.

Although no one else has filed for the two council vacancies, prospective candidates have until Feb. 22 to submit nominating petitions.

Thorpe, who has served as deputy mayor during her term on council, says that her experience, business perspective and forward- thinking approach are what she brings to the council.
