Paul Truell Seashore, 83, formerly of Sinai, died Jan. 17, 2013, in Tucson, Ariz.
A celebration of Paul’s life was held at his home on Saturday at 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Sinai Lutheran Church in Sinai on Friday, July 5, at 2 p.m.
Paul Truell Seashore was born April 1, 1929, in Keene, Neb., to Paul and Ruth Seashore. When he was 6, they moved to Beresford, until Paul was 16 and then moved to Sioux Falls. Paul graduated Washington High School in 1947 then attended Sioux Falls College lettering in football, basketball and baseball. For Paul, 1952 was a busy year. Feb. 16, Paul married Patricia Ann Husher, graduated Sioux Falls College and enlisted in the US Air Force.
They were stationed at McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kan., where they had a son, Todd Aaron in 1965. They were transferred to Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Ariz. in 1967, where he remained until he retired Nov. 1, 1976, as chief master sergeant.
During his 24-year career in the military Paul was awarded with numerous medals, ribbons and recognitions for service “above and beyond.” Paul was employed the next 15 years with El Dorado Medical Center maintenance department, retiring in 1991. They spent their summers back in Sinai and Buffalo Lake Minn. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Paul’s life was dedicated to his work and helping anyone who asked. He lived for keeping his yard beautiful and was especially proud of his 22-inch grapefruits and his many beautiful rose bushes.
