James Griffith, 54, of Huron, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Jourdanton, Texas.
Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Birr officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Kuhler Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon.
James Ray Griffith was born Feb. 18, 1958, in Bozeman, Mont., to Frank and Clareen (Ishmael) Griffith. He moved to Huron in 1963, and graduated from Huron High School in 1976. At the time of his death, Jim was the owner of Griffith Honey Company, which was established in 1962 at Huron by his father, Frank Griffith. He had been a beekeeper in California, South Dakota, and Texas.
He enjoyed relaxing on the beach, reading, riding his motorcycles, shooting guns, and spending time with his daughters.
He is survived by his two daughters, Chelsey Griffith and Shelby Griffith both of Sioux Falls; his father, Frank Griffith of Huron; two brothers, John Griffith of Huron and Joe (Kirsten) Griffith of Alcester; three sisters, Elva (Howard) Stenbak of Huron, Sherry Griffith of Huron and Linda (Dr. Bob) Millican of Plover, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
