Albu earns weekly honor

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Phil Albu was named the Summit League Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, as announced Tuesday.

A junior from Charlie Lake, British Columbia, Albu earned his first career weekly honor.

In a 130-75 win over Iowa Central, he won the 50-yard backstroke (24.66 seconds) and was a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:36.65). Albu then won the 100 back (52.45), 200 back (1:54.53) and 400 medley relay (3:31.24) to help SDSU defeat North Dakota, 180-120.
