Garretson wins BEC/LCC wrestling tourney

FLANDREAU – Garretson won the Big East/Lake Central Conference wrestling tournament on Saturday.

The Blue Dragons posted 153.5 team points. Host Flandreau, which had a tournament-high four individual champions, was second at 135; followed by McCook Central/Montrose (131.5) in third. Kingsbury County (72) finished seventh and Sioux Valley (54) ninth.

For the Fliers, Dylan Rice, Tate Lacey, Jace Christiansen and Dakota Petersen won titles.

Rice earned a 6-2 decision over Deuel’s Devon Sievers in the 106-pound championship.
