Lynx upend ‘Cats, 60-53

BRANDON – Brandon Valley outscored Brookings 19-12 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 60-53 victory over Brookings during Eastern South Dakota Conference boys’ basketball action Friday night.

The Lynx led 15-9 after a quarter, before the Bobcats pulled within 28-25 at halftime and tied the score at 41-41 through three quarters.

Brookings twice led early in the fourth, the last coming at 44-43 after Seth Moret’s bucket with 4:58 remaining. But Brandon Valley answered with a 9-0 run to take control.

Chase Marso sandwiched 3-pointers around a Devan West three-point play during the spurt, which made it 52-44.

Brookings never got closer than six points after that.
