BROOKINGS – Even though his Bobcats outscored Brandon Valley by 20 team points in last Saturday’s Les Tlustos Invitational, Brookings head coach Scott Miller knew his squad was going to be in for a battle in Friday’s Eastern South Dakota Conference dual with the Lynx.

Miller’s misgivings came true as Brandon Valley rallied from a 22-13 deficit to beat the ‘Cats, 37-28, at the BHS Auxiliary Gymnasium.

“It was a close one – we needed bonus points at 106 pounds; we didn’t give up bonus points at 113, so again, it’s just the little things as you look at the scope and sequence of the night where we give up the match at 126 where we’ve won three times this year,” said Miller. “It’s hard to beat people over and over again, so Justice (Lamer) just has to go back to the drawing board and do a couple of things different – there are some things on his breakdowns where they are capitalizing when we get out of position, so we just need to get back into the wrestling room and do some things."
