Donna Mae Peterson - Slayton, Minn.: Dec. 20, 1941 – Jan. 30, 2013

Donna Mae Peterson, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton, Minn.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, Minn., with the Rev. Jay Borchert and the Rev. Chris Naig officiating. Burial is at Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Minn. Visitation is Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. at Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.

She was born in Marshall, Minn., on Dec. 20, 1941, to Carl and Olinda (Garlich) Poppick. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1959 and Minneapolis Business College in 1961.

She was a devoted employee and loyal friend to coworkers at Aid Association for Lutherans in Appleton, Wis.; Redwood Motor Supply in Redwood Falls, Minn; South Dakota State University in Brookings and Pinnacle Publishing in Bemidji, Minn.

She was a great mom, loving wife and devoted grandma who will always be known for her love, big hugs and zest for life.

Her life revolved around her family. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan and supporter. She loved to sing, travel, spend time outdoors and care for animals.

She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family.

She loved to go on adventures with her girls, cheer for her favorite sports teams and camp with her family every summer at Cass Lake.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Peterson; three children, Kim (Scott) Olafson of Lake Shetek, Minn., Kelly (Jeffrey) Sheehan of Chanhassen, Minn., and Mark (Michele) Hogan of Lander, Wyo.; six grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Darlene (Poppick) Kelley.
