Jerry B. Ditmanson, 84, formerly of Sioux Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Milbank.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison with the Rev. Kris Mutzenberger officiating. Burial with military honors is at Black Hills Cemetery in Sturgis. Visitation will be one hour preceding the service.
Jerry Ditmanson was born June 24, 1928, at Sioux Falls, to Henry and Florence (Berndt) Ditmanson. He attended military training in Colorado and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950. He married Dorothy Whitney on April 30, 1950, at Fremont, Neb. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired from military service in 1972. They lived in Germany and later in Sioux Falls. Jerry worked as night auditor and front desk manager at Holiday Inn City Center in Sioux Falls for many years. He was a Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include four daughters, Kimberly Ditmanson of Milbank, Nancy Ditmanson of Salem, Karen (Bob) Masterson of Chester and Diana Masterson of Salem and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2005, and a daughter, Sharon, in 1961.
