‘Strategic thinking’ for city’s future

• Councilors to plan much further – up to 10 years – into Brookings’ future

BROOKINGS – Both the current council and future councils will be looking at a much longer timeline when they delve into city planning, and they’ll take a “deeper dive” into the financials of not only the city government but its two major subsidiaries, the Brookings Health System and Brookings Municipal Utilities.

That’s the report from Mayor Tim Reed following last week’s daylong council retreat, a session held specifically to get the councilors into a “strategic thinking” mode.
