Brookings man charged in choking incident

BROOKINGS – A 46-year-old Brookings man was taken to the Brookings County Detention Center early this morning after he allegedly began choking his girlfriend.

The woman, a 48-year-old Brookings resident, told police that her boyfriend had gotten upset with her, attacked her and then began to strangle her.
