Olga Wold, 91, formerly of Brookings, died Thursday January 17, 2013, at Custer Regional Senior Care in Custer.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rude’s Funeral Home, Brookings. Burial is at Midway Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Olga Wold was born Aug. 30, 1921 in Ada County, Minn., the daughter of Ellef and Gunhild (Isakson) Wold. She spent her early years and received her education in White. She was a graduate of White High School in 1940.
Olga married Arthur N. Anderson on June 6, 1944, in Dyersburg, Tenn. After their marriage they lived in various cities throughout South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota and Missouri until retiring to Brookings in 1976. Arthur died on Dec. 8, 1980 in Brookings.
Olga continued to make Brookings her home until moving to Custer Regional Senior Care in 2011. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Brookings, and the Ladies Aid at First Lutheran. She especially enjoyed reading.
She is survived by three sons, James Anderson of Custer, Glen (Elaine) Anderson of Hot Springs, and Paul Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter-in-law Sue Anderson of Hill City; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great- great-grandchildren, a brother, James Wold of Kansas City, Kan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Art, two brothers, Justin and John and five sisters, Bessie, Inez, Jeanette, Solveig, and Mabelle.
