Sioux Valley played host to Kingsbury County, Groton and Lyman for a wrestling quadrangular on Friday evening in Volga. Seen here: Knights senior Eugene Martin, the defending Class B state champion at 182 pounds, works on the Cossacks’ Thayer Trenhaile in their 195-pound bout. Martin won by fall in 28 seconds but Sioux Valley won the dual by a 52-28 margin. Martin pinned all three of his opponents in the first round during Friday’s action.

VOLGA – Groton went 3-0, Lyman 2-1, the host Cossacks 1-2 and Kingsbury County 0-3 at the Sioux Valley Quadrangular on Friday evening.
Sioux Valley picked up a 52-28 victory over the Knights.
Sophomore Hayden Hall and senior Eli Westendorf both went 3-0 on the day for the Cossacks.
At 152, Hall pinned all three of his opponents within the first minute of the match. At 145, Westendorf had a pin, a major decision and a decision.
