Jacoba Nagel, 85, formerly of Madison, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at St. Therese Care Center in New Hope, Minn.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison with the Rev. Constanze Hagmaier officiating. Burial will precede the service at Graceland Cemetery in Madison.
Jacoba Hendrika Teunissen was born May 31, 1927, at Ede, Netherlands, to Jannus and Hendrikje (Van Holland) Teunissen. She came to America in 1930 with her parents and her oldest brother. Jacoba was raised in Iowa and married Wayne P. Nagel on June 15, 1946, at Luverne, Minn. They raised their family in Madison, where Wayne worked for East River Electric and she was the head housekeeper at Dakota State University. They moved to Grand Rapids, Minn., where Jacoba was a housekeeper at Holiday Inn. They returned to Madison in 1989. He died in 2001 and she moved to Annandale, Minn., to be near her children and grandchildren. Jacoba was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison.
Survivors include a son, John (Laurie) Nagel of Annandale, Minn.; two daughters, Anna (Mike) Beattie and Mary (Stan) Sanders, both of Maple Grove, Minn; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Henry (Dee) Teunissen and Gybertus (Vera) Teunissen, both of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; a daughter, Peggy Nagel; and a brother, Cornelius Teunissen.
