BROOKINGS – Looking to carry a pistol without letting people know you're packing heat? In Brook-ings County, be prepared for a three-day turnaround of your application.

"They're keeping us busy," Brookings County Sheriff Marty Stanwick told The Brookings Register on Wednesday, in response to a query if there had been an increase in applications to carry.
