BROOKINGS – Nate Wolters scored 29 points and South Dakota State shot 72.7 percent from the field in the second half to record its 25th consecutive home victory, 83-57, over Fort Wayne during Summit League men’s basketball action Saturday afternoon at Frost Arena.

Trailing 40-36 with 16:43 remaining, Wolters and Co. got things going with a 19-2 run to take control.

Wolters was dialed in in the second half, hitting a jumper and adding a three-point play to put SDSU up 41-40. Following a layup by the Mastodons’ Joe Reed, the Jacks took the lead for good – 43-42 – on another Wolters jumper with 15:34 left. The senior point guard then came up with a steal and fired the ball upcourt to Tony Fiegen, who capped the play with a two-handed dunk.
