BROOKINGS – After coming off a 21-point loss to the top-rated Washington Warriors on Tuesday, Friday night’s matchup with No. 2-ranked Aberdeen Central didn’t bode well for the Bobcat girls.
But for the first 16 minutes, Brookings played right with the Golden Eagles, trailing 26-19 at the intermission.
However, Central came out with a vengeance in the second half and ended up cruising to a 59-31 Eastern South Dakota Conference victory at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.
Emily Johnson was fouled after burying a 3-pointer to pull the Bobcats within a point, 20-19, with 1:33 left in the first half.
