Gail M. Nielsen, 53, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, in Phoenix.
A remembrance service is at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rude’s Funeral Home, in Brookings.
Gail Marie Anderson was born on Aug. 27, 1959, in De Smet, the daughter of Raymond and Norita (Skelton) Anderson. She grew up in the Erwin area and graduated from Arlington High School in 1977. She attended South Dakota State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in computer science. She worked at 3M and Larson Manufacturing in Brookings. She moved to Phoenix in 2000. She was employed at Pet Smart until the time of her death.
Gail was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and also followed the Arizona Cardinals. She enjoyed spending her time shopping.
She is survived her husband, Warren Nielsen, of Peoria, Ariz.; four children, Chelsea Solhiem, of Brookings; Cortney Solhiem, Carissa and Connor Nielsen, all of Peoria; her parents, Norita and Leonard Henneman; four sisters, Tara (Fred) Bolsinger, Debora (Gary) Alickson, Laurie (Norm) Van Roekel, and Jennifer (Jerome) Kemper; one brother, Jeffrey (Gayle) Anderson; father-in-law, Conrad Nielsen; mother-in-law, Lannie McKinney; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond.
