Sioux Valley, Deubrook Area, Estelline, Colman-Egan post victories

SALEM – The Cossacks limited McCook Central/Montrose to six second-half points to beat the Fighting Cougars, 35-24, in Big East Conference girls’ basketball action on Thursday.

After playing to an 11-11 tie after the first eight minutes, Sioux Valley took a 22-18 halftime lead before holding MCM to a single point in the third. Up 26-19 heading into the fourth, the Cossacks stretched their lead for the win with a 9-5 advantage over the final eight minutes.
