Texting ban goes into effect Friday

• City police will begin watching drivers

BROOKINGS – Come Friday, texting a friend while you’re driving down a Brookings street could prove costly.

That’s because on Jan. 11, 2013, the new Brookings ordinance banning texting while driving goes into effect.

If you’re cited, it could cost you $120.
