FLANDREAU – Flandreau rolled to a 57-26 victory over Chester Area in the first round of the Big East Conference boys’ basketball tournament on Thursday.
The Fliers (3-2) face McCook Central/Montrose (4-2) in a semifinal today, while the Flyers (2-5) take on Baltic (2-4) in a consolation semi. MCM beat Baltic 55-40 in the other first-round matchup played in Flandreau on Thursday.
On the other side of the bracket in Howard, Sioux Valley dropped the host Tigers 66-36 and Garretson edged Parker by a 43-35 margin. The Cossacks (4-2) take on the Blue Dragons (4-2) in the semifinals, while the Tigers (1-5) and Pheasants (3-4) face off in a consolation game.
