Agnes Helmbolt, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Society in Clear Lake.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Gary with the Rev. Frank McKeehan officiating. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Agnes was born March 20, 1929, in Sully County, the daughter of Jens and Ada (Tidrick) Jensen. After school, she stayed at home and helped with caring for her siblings.
She did work at the Blind School in Gary for two years. On Oct. 11, 1947, she married Clyde Helmbolt and they lived in Gary their entire life. She did upholstery work at her home for many years. Clyde died Aug. 31, 2008, and then Agnes entered in the Deuel County Good Samaritan Society in December 2008.
She loved fishing, ceramics and playing card and board games.
For many years, Agnes sold fireworks at the stand near Canby, Minn. She was a member of United Methodist Church for several years.
Agnes is survived by her two sons, Lyndon Helmbolt of Stamford, Conn., and Roger (Cindy) Helmbolt of Watertown; daughter, Marilyn Kray of Clara City, Minn.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a brother, Orville (Kae) Jensen of Venice, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde; son, Marvin; infant daughter, Linda Jo; grandson, Cory Lynn Helmbolt; son-in-law Peter Kray; four sisters and two brothers.
