Gloria D. Rossow, 81, formerly of Brookings, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, after a long illness.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brookings. Burial is in First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings. Visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association (http://www.alz.org) or Our Savior Lutheran Church of Brookings.
Gloria Dean Rossow was born March 14, 1931, in Omaha, Neb., to Harry O. and Mabel (Houge) Holley. She grew up in Omaha and later moved to Ft. Dodge, Iowa, where she graduated from high school and went on to graduate from Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls. Gloria married Harold H. Rossow, also of Ft. Dodge, on Feb. 18, 1951.
After moving to Brookings in 1967, she worked in retail sales and as an accountant/office manager for Northwestern Public Service. She was an active member of her church. Gloria moved to Rochester, Minn., in 2008.
Gloria is survived by her five children, Harold C. Rossow of Brookings, Kathleen (Robert) Lytle of Rochester, Minn., Cynthia (Bill) Jongeling of Jonesville, Mich., Kristine (Ken) Fiscus of Minneapolis and Kurt D. Rossow of St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clark Holley and James Holley and a sister Inez Holley Clapham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on May 1, 1977.
