Performing arts center in store for Sioux Valley?

BROOKINGS – It’s all preliminary right now, but Sioux Valley School District is hoping to soon move its drama and music productions from a stage in the gym to a true theater, and to create some new music classrooms as well.

Plans the school board is considering would transform the district’s oldest building, known as “the 1923 building,” into one piece of a performing arts center. According to the preliminary plan, three new spaces would be added to the existing building to create a theater with theater-style seats, a lobby, music classrooms, teacher offices, practice rooms and restrooms.
