BROOKINGS – City Councilor Jael Thorpe belongs to the “unplugged generation,” that group of digitally literate citizens who live their lives on cell phones and other mobile devices, who regularly Tweet friends and followers and who carry an iPad so they’ll never be too far from a full-featured computer.
She wants the City of Brookings to join her in the Mobile Age.
During the part of Tuesday’s council session, in which the councilors suggest topics for future exploration, Thorpe said she’d like to see the city develop an app for citizens who carry mobile devices.
