BROOKINGS – South Dakota State opened its home dual schedule with a 27-16 victory over SIU Edwardsville on Saturday night at Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits recorded three pins – including key falls from Ben Gillette at 141 pounds and Hunter Weddington at 184 – while improving to 3-5 in duals on the season.
“There are a lot of positives but we’ve still got a ton of work to do,” said first-year SDSU head coach Chris Bono. “We gave up a couple of matches that we should have had. It’s nice to win but we’ve got to get some individual wins."
