BROOKINGS – Holding a purchase offer of $225,000 from the City of Brookings for their Resource Center, Brookings County commissioners discussed Tuesday whether they were ready to sell.
They’re not, until they have a lot of questions answered.
The county’s Resource Center is attached to the city-owned Swiftel Center; it would be smack in the middle of a proposed event/conference center and hotel there. The building is 12 years old and needs a new roof that would cost about $26,000. Commission Chair Deanna Santema said two appraisals of the property have come back at $1 million and $750,000.
