Driver flees after mashing postal box

BROOKINGS – A local driver did battle with a post office parcel drop box recently, and it appears the driver won.

At least for now.

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office got a call Monday from the U.S. Postal Service regarding a smashed box at 3250 Western Avenue.

The parcel box was damaged when a vehicle apparently backed into it and then left the scene.
