Vandal tries break-in at tool-and-die

BROOKINGS – Brookings police are investigating an attempted break-in at a local manufacturer, Lt. Derrick Powers said Monday.

A door at SD Tool & Die was damaged recently in an attempted forced entry, Powers said, but the person or persons were unable to get inside the building. Powers said it appears nothing was taken.

The shop is located in the 100 block of 32nd Avenue.

While the incident was reported Sunday, police said the attempt could have taken place at any time in the past three weeks.
