• With Daktronics match, grant to continue engineering camp
BROOKINGS – The Brookings School District has again received an EPSCoR grant for its summer engineering camps, one of 12 projects in the state to get money in this round of funding.
According to the South Dakota Department of Education, school districts and other educational organizations across the state will receive a total of $200,000 to enhance, expand and develop new opportunities in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) areas.
Jane Sylte, engineering teacher for Brookings High School, said Brookings will receive $5,770. It will be used to continue a summer camp that has been offered several times before at BHS.
