William G. Jensen, 54, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital, in Sioux Falls, from complications of a recent procedure.
A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rude’s Funeral Home in Brookings.
William Gault Jensen was born on March 5, 1958, in Maryville, Mo., the son of Darrell and Melissa (Gault) Jensen.
He attended school in New Virginia, Iowa, and Iowa City and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1976. He attended college at South Dakota State University and Dakota State University in Madison.
He started working at Falcon Plastics in 1981, where he worked his way up to production manager.
He married Dawn Pater on May 16, 1981 in Sioux Falls. He became disabled and suffered chronic pain since July of 2000.
Bill enjoyed spending his time golfing, reading, playing softball, listening to music and attending his children’s ballgames.
He especially loved being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Jensen, of Volga; three children, John “JF” (Mackenzie) Jensen of Sioux Falls, Katie Jensen of Volga and Liz (John Soost) Jensen of Brookings; four grandchildren; his parents, Darrell and Melissa Jensen, of Volga; a sister, Jane Jensen, of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Thom Jensen, of Volga; his parents-in-law, Henry and Janice Pater, of Sioux Falls; sister-in-law Denise (Dean) Gjertson, of Tea; brother-in-law Darrin (Joan) Pater, of Adrian, Minn. and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to the family.
