• No premium increase for health, vision or life insurance, dental rates up slightly
BROOKINGS – With talk of dramatically increased health care costs possible as Obamacare becomes the law of the land, the Brookings City Council got some very good news this week from the city’s human resources and finance directors, Donna Langland and Rita Thompson.
The memo the two sent to council concerned the city’s health, vision and dental coverage.
The city’s self-insured health plan is on solid ground, Langland and Thompson reported, and there will be no need to increase premiums for 2013.
