BROOKINGS – Expect your monthly utility bill to be about $5 a month higher in 2013.
Consumer costs for water and wastewater service from Brookings Municipal Utilities will increase by about 8 percent next year, but Brookings customers will get a bargain with their electric bills: they should only go up by only 1.5 percent.
For the average homeowner in Brookings, the three price hikes will amount to about $4.88 per month – slightly more than $58 for the entire year.
