DEKALB, Ill. – South Dakota State went 2-1 at the Huskie Duals, beating Indiana and Tiffin while falling to Northern Illinois on Saturday.
The Jackrabbits opened with a big 19-18 victory over the Hoosiers, of the Big Ten Conference. They then fell to the host Huskies by a 26-12 margin but closed out the event with a 32-12 win over the Dragons, a Division II member.
“The win versus Indiana was a great win for our program,” first-year head coach Chris Bono told SDSU Sports Information. “Brance Simms stepped up and got a fall for us and Brandon Ballard got a major decision to clinch the dual. The win is definitely something we can build on."
