Rosemary Stordahl, 70, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at her home in Wentworth.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison with the Rev. Constanze and Dirk Hagmaier officiating. Burial is in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ellsworth Funeral Home in Madison.
Rosemary A. Hill was born Dec. 14, 1941, at Hendricks, Minn., to O.G. and Mary (Hovrud) Hill. She attended rural school in Brookings County and graduated from Augustana Academy in Canton and Augustana College in Sioux Falls with a BA in elementary education. She married Roger Stordahl on Aug. 17, 1962, at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls.
They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. She taught for a few years in Sioux Falls and then they lived in Milbank, Ankeny, Iowa, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Troy, Ohio, before moving to the Madison Area in 2000.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA, Sons of Norway and Madison Lions Club and she organized a weekly dominoes group at the Lakes Community Center.
Survivors include her husband, Roger of Wentworth; two daughters, Tammy (Greg) Fender of Madison and Annie Stordahl of San Francisco; a brother, Ordelle (Helen) Hill of Richmond, Ky.; three sisters, Adeline Foss of Nebraska City, Neb., Glorice (Ray) Morris and Fern (Wally) Skoglund of Sun City West, Ariz., and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Ann Holmes.
