BROOKINGS – Kathy Tyler says she’ll be the person in Pierre looking out for “the kids and the old people.”

A ridin’, ropin’ rancher, Tyler is a Democratic candidate for the South Dakota House, seeking one of the two spots available in District 4.

And as for tossing her Stetson into the political ring, well, this ain’t her first rodeo, she tells followers on her website, kathytyler.net. The former educator and businesswoman has been a member of the Milbank Board of Education for 13 years and is currently its vice president.
