Former school board member wants to ‘take back’ education

BROOKINGS – The race to claim the two House seats in District 4 could prove to be one of the region’s more interesting general election contests.

There are no incumbents this go-round, and three first-timers and a 10-year statehouse veteran are all seeking to represent the newly redrawn territory that includes the rural areas surrounding Brookings and Watertown as well as Grant and Deuel counties – all the way from Big Stone south to Sinai.

In a field of strong personalities, probably none has a more interesting “back story” than chiropractic physician Fred Deutsch.
