Evelyn V. Galvan, 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at her home in Flandreau.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Eastman Hall in Flandreau. Burial is in First Presbyterian Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Saturday with a wake service on both Saturday and Sunday evenings at Eastman Hall.
Evelyn was born April 5, 1925, at Pine Ridge to James and Bessie (Weston) Grass. She was educated in Pine Ridge and married Charles Galvan in Omaha, Neb., in 1965. They moved to Flandreau in 2001. Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by eight children, Adel Davis of Flandreau, Leonard (Sandy) Long of Rapid City, Victoria Peres of Flandreau, Patricia Larvie of Phoenix, Ariz., Cecil (Peg) Long of Flandreau, Michael Long of Flandreau, Charles Galvan, Jr., of Porcupine and Kevin Galvan of Denver; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sidney Byrd of Flandreau.
She was preceded in death by her son Arthur, two brothers and two sisters.
