BROOKINGS – The Jackrabbits put their backs against the wall by dropping their second straight Summit League volleyball match on their home court.
SDSU lost a five-setter to lowly South Dakota by set scores of 25-19, 19-25, 15-25, 25-19 and 18-16 to fall to 12-7 overall, and 4-4 in the Summit. The Coyotes improved to 8-11 and 2-5 in the league.
“This weekend was a pretty good wakeup call for us,” said SDSU head coach Phil McDaniel. “I think sometimes our team isn’t quite as focused as it needs to be and when that happens, things like tonight and last night can happen.
“Teams that we are very capable of beating, we don’t for various reasons. Take nothing away from what the other teams were doing, but those are teams that we certainly should have taken care of in our own gym.”
